Why Systems Matter When People Are Under Pressure

In my work over the past twenty years, I’ve learned that people rarely struggle in isolation. Most of the time, the behaviours we see — stress, conflict, burnout, or withdrawal — make more sense when we look at the systems people are operating within.
Families, teams, and organizations are living systems. When pressure increases, people adapt in ways that may be protective in the short term but disruptive over time.
My work focuses on helping individuals, families, and organizations understand how stress and relationships shape behaviour, and how systems can become more stable, resilient, and supportive under pressure.
This space will occasionally share reflections and insights from that work.
